It is my privilege to help you on this parenting journey. As a wife, mother of two and a physician, I know, first hand, that parenting is hard work. I’ve been a pediatrician for almost 20 years. During this humbling and amazing journey, I have assisted families through many challenges with their children. With each experience, I have gathered insight as to how to help the next parent who walks in my office worried if they are making the right choices for their children.. But the truth is ,many of us are struggling because we are unsure of ourselves and the choices that we have to make as parents. My prayer is that my blog helps strengthen your parenting skills and empower you to be a more confident parent today than you were yesterday.
As a member of your parenting team, it’s important for you to know who I am. I’m a Midwest resident with Southern roots! I was raised in by an amazing single mother of three. I earned my bachelors degree in biology and then continued to medical school where I graduated and completed post graduate training as a pediatric specialty. I presently am blessed with a growing pediatric practice. My greatest joy is my learning more and more about the love of God for me and His purpose for my life. Some of the best moments in my life include meeting and marrying my best friend, my husband and experiencing the joy of mothering my spectacular son and my phenomenal daughter. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned in my parenting journey is to stop what I want to do – then do what I need to do.
Again, THANK YOU for making me part of your parenting journey. Feel free to share your thoughts about my posts or ask questions about a specific parenting concern at drdtheparenttrainer@msn.com. I will not be able to respond to your question personally, but your questions will inspire future blogs and who knows…you might get the answer or the direction you need! Welcome to The Parent Trainer!

Hey Dr. D!!
I can say with confidence that she is one of the best doctors in the field. She has been given a gift by God and she uses it to bless her children through work everyday. She listens, laughs and has the knowledge base to answer all my questions and concerns. Her right hand girl Crystal is also the bomb.com. They are always available to get you in for same day appointments and call you back promptly when you leave a voice mail message.
My child was recently sick and I called almost everyday with concerns. The nursing staff was empathetic and answered my questions. A few days later, someone called to check on my baby. What doctor office does that? I highly recommend Dr. D for your children and have her be apart of your “village”
